Club Policies
Here is your guide to our current club polices. Some policy statements that were in effect during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic have been simplified, and some others added. If you have questions, please send email to Safety@PhiladelphiaCurlingClub.org
The Spirit of Curling
Philadelphia Curling Club broadly endorses “The Spirit of Curling,” which refers to the respect curlers show to one another as well as the traditions and practices of the sport itself. More complete renditions of this sentiment can be found on the GNCC website and the World Curling Federation website.
Health
Philadelphia Curling Club expects to enjoy a normal curling season this year. However, we will continue to follow all federal, state, and local guidelines. The board will also monitor our particular situation and make decisions as needed to help protect the health and safety of our members and guests.
At present, masks are not required in the club, but are encouraged for those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask to protect themselves and other members. Full COVID-19 vaccinations and boosters are recommended but not required.
Safety
Philadelphia Curling Club is committed to fostering a safe and positive environment for the physical, emotional and social development of all athletes, and to ensuring that it promotes an environment free of misconduct. Accordingly, we adhere to policies and practices endorsed by the U.S. Center for SafeSport. More information can be found on the USA Curling website and the GNCC website.
Inclusivity and Accessibility
Philadelphia Curling Club is and will remain committed to supporting all curlers regardless of sex, gender, gender identity, or gender expression. All club leagues, bonspiels, and facilities will remain open to all members, participants, and/or guests to enjoy as best aligned with an individual’s identity. Be who you are. All who uphold the Spirit of Curling are welcome.
Philadelphia Curling Club also is committed to improving accessibility and providing reasonable accommodations for all curlers and guests.
