Health and Safety Policies
Here is your guide to our current club pandemic-related polices. There's a lot of information here, but we need to know it to keep ourselves and others as safe as possible. Please read to the end. If you have questions, please contact our safety officer: Safety@PhiladelphiaCurlingClub.org
COVID Operations Policy
Philadelphia Curling Club expects to enjoy a normal curling season this year. However, we will continue to follow all federal, state, and local guidelines. The board will also monitor our particular situation and make decisions to help protect the health and safety of our members and guests.
Vaccination Policy
Philadelphia Curling Club requires anyone who enters the building to provide proof of full vaccination with a COVID-19 vaccine approved by the FDA, through traditional approval or an Emergency Use Authorization. Limited exceptions are reserved for the following groups only:
- Individuals ineligible for vaccination based on the FDA’s current approvals (e.g. children who are ineligible due to age);
- Individuals with a note from a medical professional saying the individual has a medical condition preventing them from being vaccinated;
- Contractors hired by the club.
Mask Requirement
The club is following CDC guidelines on mask requirements. Please visit the Chester County Health Department Coronavirus-COVID-19 website for more guidance on local conditions and requirements.
At present, masks are not required in the club, but are encouraged for those who feel more comfortable wearing a mask to protect themselves and other members.
Other Measures
To further protect our members, air filtration has been added to the warm room. This does not guarantee a risk-free environment, but is believed to help reduce risk from airborne threats.
We strongly suggest that you arrive dressed to curl, grab your broom, put on your shoes, and play. Minimize your time in the locker rooms. If they’re crowded, be smart about it and wait a few minutes.
Disinfecting wipes are available to clean rock handles and club stabilizers. Do not touch any stones but your own with your hands.
As always, if you feel sick in any way, do not come to the club. Contact your skip and try to arrange a sub.
As public health guidelines evolve, we will modify our policy accordingly.
Guests
Guests are allowed in the club and must follow all of our policies, including providing proof of vaccination and wearing masks. Families of Little Rockers and Juniors are considered guests and must follow all club policies, including vaccine and mask requirements.
What if I've been exposed to COVID-19?
Please visit the CDC Quarantine and Isolation webpage to see the current CDC guidance on handling exposure to COVID-19 or positive tests. Please let the club president know about your exposure. Your information will be kept private.
